One of the most appreciated contemporary directors from eastern Europe, Alexander Morfov, returns Sunday, April 7th 2013, from 19.00, in the Grand Hall of the National Theater with a highly awarded production of „Ivan Vazov” National Theater from Sofia, Don Juan by Jean-Baptiste Molière.
Known by Bucharest audience due to the show the Exiled, played in 2010, but especially due to the grand staging of the play “The old lady’s visit” by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, the director who “grabbed” the Golden Mask from the Russians, the most famous Russian prize, comes this time with a show considered the best production of the 2006-2007 season in Bulgaria.
With an impressive cast, that includes remarkable actors, Don Juan was awarded twice the best show and best direction prizes, as well as two prizes for supporting actors. With this rich record, the show was played in numerous festivals abroad.
Don Juan, perceived by some as the peerless seducer, by others as the arrogant, self- sufficient, egocentric, dissolute, forever rebel, is, for this show’s director, the person who envisages the unlimited freedom. Because “When one becomes aware of one’s complete freedom one understands that there is no one to share it with. Freedom is like celebrity; they both depend on the society we live in.” said Alexander Morfov.
The show will be played once, Sunday, April 7th 2013, from 19.00, at the Grand Hall. It will last 2 hours and 40 minutes, with brake and will be played in Bulgarian with Romanian subtitling. The tickets are up for sale at TNB ticket agency. The tickets prices are: 50, 40, 30, 16 lei.

Unul dintre cei mai apreciaţi regizori contemporani din estul Europei, Alexander Morfov, revine duminică 7 aprilie 2013, de la ora 19.00, la Sala Mare, la Teatrul Naţional cu o producţie multipremiată a Teatrul Naţional „Ivan Vazov” din Sofia, Don Juan după Jean-Baptiste Molière.
Cunoscut publicului bucureştean prin spectacolul Exilaţii, prezentat în turneu în anul 2010, dar mai ales datorită montării grandioase de pe scena mare a TNB, Vizita bătrânei doamne de Friedrich Dürrenmatt , regizorul care le-a „smuls” ruşilor Masca de Aur, cel mai prestigios premiu rusesc, vine de această dată cu un spectacol considerat drept cea mai bună producţie a stagiunii 2006-2007 în Bulgaria.
Cu o distribuţie impresionantă, din care fac parte actori remarcabili, Don Juan a fost încununat de două ori cu premiul pentru cel mai bun spectacol şi cea mai bună regie, precum şi cu două premii pentru actori în rol secundar. Cu acest bogat palmares, spectacolul a fost prezentat în numeroase festivaluri din afara ţării.
