The skeleton of Elena Ceauşescu didn’t conserve as well as the skeleton of her husband, Nicolae. The coroners identified her after the initials E.C, written on the golden dental crown, which remained almost intact Libertatea informs.
Elena Ceauşescu was buried almost 20 meters from her husband’s tomb, in a place where the land is more humid. According to the experts in forensic a coffin put to excessive humidity doesn’t conserve too long the skeleton, the DNA tests from the bone fragments being quite complicated and unable to guarantee a clear answer. Until the analysis results are published the specialists could though identify the skeleton of Elena Ceauşescu.
According to the witness present at the exhumation from Ghencea Cemetery, a dentist also took part in the process and he had the dental file of Elena Ceauşescu, including a few radiographies in which he noticed the following detail: on the back side of the golden teeth the initials E.C. (Elena Ceauşescu) were engraved. As the same initials were noticed at the analysis of the teeth extracted from the skeleton the doctors reached the conclusion that the remains belong to the wife of Nicolae Ceauşescu.

Scheletul Elenei Ceauşescu nu s-a conservat la fel de bine precum cel al soţului ei, Nicolae. Medicii legişti au identificat-o după iniţialele E.C., inscripţionate pe coroana dentară din aur, rămasă aproape intactă, informeaza Libertatea.
Elena Ceauşescu a fost îngropată la aproape 20 de metri de mormântul soţului ei, într-un loc unde solul e mai umed. Potrivit experţilor în medicină legală, un sicriu expus la umiditate excesivă nu conservă pentru mult timp scheletul, testele ADN din fragmentele osoase prelevate fiind destul de complicate şi neputând garanta un răspuns clar. Până la publicarea rezultatului analizelor, specialiştii au putut totuşi identifica scheletul Elenei Ceauşescu.
Potrivit martorilor prezenţi la deshumarea din Cimitirul Ghencea, la acţiune a luat parte şi un medic stomatolog care avea fişa dentară a Elenei Ceauşescu, inclusiv câteva radiografii în care se observa următorul detaliu: în partea din spate a danturii, lucrată în aur, erau gravate iniţialele E.C. (Elena Ceauşescu). Cum şi la analizarea danturii prelevate de la schelet s-au observat aceleaşi iniţiale, s-a ajuns la concluzia că rămăşiţele pământeşti îi aparţin soţiei lui Nicolae Ceauşescu.
