German companies want to expand their investments in Romania, but they need to know that they will further find a stable and predictable business and financial environment, the ambassador of Germany in Bucharest, Andreas von Mettenheim said Thursday at the New Year Reception of the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIRG), Agerpres reports.
“Germany is, and will remain Romania’s top economic partner, but in order to do this, we need financial stability here, same as in the entire Europe. Romania is working hard for this and we are aware of its efforts. In Europe, one must take the feet off the investment brake, and Romania already lifted one foot. Now it must take off the second as well. Companies sometimes are upset with how some auctions are organized, or the answers given by Justice. This may scare new investors and it is to Romania’s best interest to take the appropriate measures,” Andreas von Mettenheim said.
According to the diplomat, investors want Romania to keep labor cost at a competitive level and develop a professional education system that provides skilled labor to German companies.
“We want to further support the growth of trade exchanges, in traditional fields like environment, automobiles and retail, as well as in new ones, especially energy. We want a partnership in even terms to develop these economic relations and ask the government to support us with this regard,” said CCIRG official Sebastian Metz.
In the same context CCIRG President Radu Merica explained that Romania has a creative potential and can sell its products, such as food or clothing, to Germany, regardless of the crisis.

Companiile germane vor să îşi extindă investiţiile în România, dar este nevoie să ştie că vor găsi în continuare un climat de stabilitate şi predictibilitate financiară, a afirmat, joi, ambasadorul Germaniei la Bucureşti, Andreas Von Mettenheim, la recepţia de Anul Nou a Camerei de Comerţ şi Industrie Româno-Germane, scrie Agerpres.
'Germania este şi va rămâne partenerul economic numărul unu al României. Pentru aceasta, este nevoie, la fel ca în întreaga Europă, şi aici să existe o stabilitate financiară. România trage din greu pentru aceasta şi suntem conştienţi de eforturile sale. La nivelul Europei trebuie luate picioarele de pe frâna investiţiilor, iar România a luat deja un picior. Acum trebuie să fie luat şi al doilea picior. Este drept, companiile se supără uneori pe birocraţie, pe modul de organziare a unor licitaţii, pe răspunsurile nu tocmai prompte din partea Justiţiei. Asta poate speria investitorii noi şi este în interesul României să ia măsurile corespunzătoare', a precizat Andreas Von Mettenheim.
Potrivit diplomatului german, investitorii sunt interesaţi ca România să nu poată fi depăşită de alte ţări în ceea ce priveşte costul mâinii de lucru şi doreşte ca în ţara noastră să se dezvolte un sistem de învăţământ profesional, prin care firmele germane să poată găsi mâna de lucru bine specializată.
'Dorim să sprijinim în continuare creşterea schimburilor comerciale, atât în domenii tradiţionale, precum protecţia mediului, automobile şi comerţul cu amănuntul, dar şi în altele noi, mai ales în domeniul energiei. Vrem un parteneriat de la egal la egal pentru a dezvolta aceste relaţii economice şi cerem guvernului să ne sprijine în acest sens', a spus noul director general al CCIRG, Sebastian Metz.
În acest context, preşedintele CCIRG, Radu Merica, a precizat că în anul 2012 structura pe care o conduce se va subordona atât intereselor oamenilor de afaceri germani, precum şi promovării produselor româneşti în Germania.
'România nu este bună numai pentru producţia de bază. Avem un potenţial creativ, putem vinde produsele noastre în Germania, pentru că omenirea are nevoie, indiferent de crize, de mâncare şi îmbrăcăminte, iar aici putem produce competitiv', a spus Radu Merica.
