Calf Claudiu saved by lifeguards at the Black Sea, after swimming 28 hours

Tourists on Constanta beach were left astonished this weekend when they saw a calf taken out of the water by lifeguards. The calf, who desperately fought with water for almost 28 hours, was brought to shore by lifeguards who saw it struggling in the distance.

It is eight months old and has gone through a traumatizing experience. It fell off a ship that was taking him abroad, where it was to be culled in a slaughterhouse, and fought with the water for 28 hours, miraculously surviving.

Initially, lifeguards fought it was a man and hurried to save the being from trouble. When they got closed, they noticed the victim was a calf and realized that the rescue operation was more complicated. They needed a motorboat to pull the animal out of the water. They tied it with a rope to the boat and headed to the shore.

"It swam many miles and was seen by someone who asked for help, thinking it was a person or a group of people," a lifeguard said.

Tourists who were on the beach couldn't believe it that the animal resisted in the water so long until it was saved. "I thought it was a joke," one said.

For the time being, an animal protection association found a home for the calf - a farm in Constanta, where it was checked by a vet and remains under observation. The farm's owner has already grown fond of the calf, named it Claudiu and would like to keep it. Several people came to claim the calf until now. But the man says he will give the animal only to the person who proves ownership with documents.

Are opt luni si a trecut printr-o experienta traumatizanta.
