Two decades have passed since Dallas fans were left to ruminate on the cliffhanger to end them all, which saw a single gunshot sound off camera as J.R and Bobby fought at their famous ranch, Daily Mail writes.
Die-hard fans, of course, know they both survived thanks to a low-key reunion film in the late 90s' that went largely under the radar, but this summer the Ewing brothers and J.R's cult hero wife, Sue Ellen, are getting the comeback they deserve in a big-budget 'continuation' of the Texan saga.
And last night the winning triumvirate at the heart of the saga of oil, love, sex and scheming were a sight to please the Dallas faithful at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.
Linda Grey, 71 , who played Sue Ellen from the show's inception in 1978 with equal amounts of pathos, pluck and mascara, was escorted on the red carpet by Patrick Duffy, 62 , who played her gentle, peace-brokering brother-in-law, Bobby.
But no reunion would be complete without an appearance from Larry Hagman, 80 , who as the Machiavellian amoral anti-hero of the show drove the action with his contagious dry-wit.
Still looking as though he has a few nefarious schemes up his sleeve, Hagman, who has always revelled in an unabashed love for the role, of course donned his trademark stetson.
