PNL president Crin Antonescu said Sunday during the show “After 20 years”, broadcast on Pro TV, that Traian Băsescu will be impeached again, at the end of this year, after the parliamentary elections, if he does not appoint Victor Ponta as PM, if USL is going to win the elections.
Required to comment the scenario according to which USL wins the elections with 50% plus one and will nominate Victor Ponta as PM and president Traian Băsescu refuses to appoint Ponta and will ask for another nomination from USL or will nominate himself somebody else from USL, Antonescu said that in this situation the impeachment procedure will start.
"The impeachment procedure will start. But I really do not think that this will happen because as long as we have- one day ahead, two days ahead- the public vote, once again, without any possibility to interpret it- such an action of the president will clearly be a breach of the Constitution, a defy of the popular vote and it only has one democratic answer.” mentioned Antonescu.

Preşedintele PNL Crin Antonescu a declarat, duminică, la emisiunea "După 20 de ani", transmisă de Pro TV, că Traian Băsescu va fi suspendat din nou, la sfârşitul acestui an, respectiv după alegerile parlamentare, dacă nu îl va numi premier pe Victor Ponta, în ipoteza în care USL câştigă alegerile.
Solicitat să comenteze scenariul în care USL câştigă alegerile cu 50% plus unu şi îl nominalizează pe Victor Ponta premier, iar preşedintele Traian Băsescu refuză să îl numească pe Ponta, solicitând un alt nume de la USL sau nominalizând pe altcineva din rândul USL, Antonescu a spus că în această situaţie se va declanşa procedura de suspendare.
"Se declanşează procedura de suspendare. Dar eu chiar nu cred că se va întâmpla asta pentru că atâta vreme cât avem - cu o zi înainte, cu două zile înainte - pronunţarea populară, încă o dată - fără nicio posibilitate de a o mai interpreta - o asemenea acţiune a preşedintelui ar fi clar o încălcare a Constituţiei, o sfidare a votului popular şi ea nu are decât un răspuns democratic", a precizat Antonescu.
