President Traian Basescu stated on Sunday in Predeal, while on a snowmobile, that the new year’s “concerns” are no longer his, being the government’s and the parliamentary majority’s, pointing out that if he looks over USL’s governing program it will be a “formidable” year.
“The concerns are the government’s, I no longer have concerns, I no longer have concerns. They’re the government’s, the great parliamentary majority’s, certainly not mine,” Basescu answered laughingly.
He added that 2013 “is a risky year from an economic standpoint,” but from a political standpoint “it’s a year that cannot pose problems because we have a huge majority and a government that enjoys an extraordinarily high popular and parliamentary backing, which will allow it to fulfill all commitments taken in the program announced on the occasion of its investiture.”
“So, I believe it will be a formidable year for Romanians if we analyze the governing program,” Basescu added. He also pointed out that he would like to see the new government fulfilling its promises.

Preşedintele Traian Băsescu a declarat, duminică, la Predeal, de pe snowmobil, că în ceea ce priveşte "grijile" noului an acestea nu mai sunt la el, ci la Guvern şi la majoritatea parlamentară, precizând că, dacă se uită la programul de guvernare al USL, va fi un an "formidabil".
„Grijile sunt la Guvern, eu nu mai am griji, nu mai am griji. La Guvern, la marea majoritate parlamentară, în niciun caz nu sunt la mine", a răspuns Băsescu râzând.
El a mai declarat că anul 2013 este, "din punct de vedere economic, un an riscant", iar din punct de vedere politic este "un an care nu poate să ne pună probleme pentru că avem o majoritate uriaşă şi un Guvern cu o susţinere populară şi parlamentară extraordinar de ridicată, ceea ce îi va permite să-şi îndeplinească toate cele asumate în programul anunţat cu ocazia învestiturii".
"Deci, cred că va fi un an formidabil pentru români dacă analizăm programul de guvernare", a adăugat Băsescu. El a mai precizat că şi-ar dori ca noul Guvern să-şi realizeze promisiunile.
